ABOUT MARILYN'S TECHNICAL AND TEACHING BACKGROUND Among other things, Marilyn's background includes 14 years as a Professor of computer languages and other computer-related subjects at North Seattle College, followed by 20 years working in California, Texas, Washington, and Colorado for graphics, CAD/CAM/CAE, and telephony software houses as a Corporate Trainer, Software Engineer, Database Designer, Technical Writer and Illustrator, Web Site Creator, Multimedia Creator, and more. She has worked with the Internet since the mid-1960s in the educational system. For an international telephony corporation in the early 1990s, she has written highly technical manuals about Internet protocols and the World Wide Web. She has also written web content for both the technical and general Internet user, and also has created many dozens of large and small web sites for corporate Intranets as well as for the Internet. Since the 1980s, Marilyn has used her artistic skills to create thousands of new media art and animations for print, video, and broadcast media using various software on Amiga, Mac, and PC computers. Although her current focus is on web and database design, art, and writing, she enjoys tutoring and particularly likes to teach any of the subjects listed below to beginners.
